Listening to music teleports us to dimensions where we have never been before. It is an infallible trigger of the imagination that, in this edition, activates the musician, composer and producer Raül Refree through Milton Nascimento, Oneohtrix Point Never, the mythic Ryuichi Sakamoto and Alva Noto, Alice Coltrane, Estrella Morente, Lucio Battisti or Mikel Laboa’s basque classic Txoria txori. It is, in short, a new way to introduce the Festival’s theme through another point of view. Another wat to enjoy Getxophoto from anywhere.

RAÜL REFREE

Born in 1976 in Barcelona, Raül Refree is a musician, composer and producer. He has been a member of the bands Corn Flakes, Romodance, Sitcom and Élena. As  producer he has worked with Maria Rodés, Kiko Veneno, Rocío Márquez, Guitarricadelafuente, Rodrigo Cuevas, Niño de Elche, Ricky Martin, LA M.O.D.A and C. Tangana. For El Madrileño – album of this last artist – he was awarded with Latin Grammy in 2021. He has also released duo albums with Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth (Names of North End Women), Lina (Lina_Raül Refree), Silvia Pérez Cruz (Granada) and the first album by Rosalía (Los ángeles). As a composer and musician he has released 11 albums under his most personal project: Refree, as well as film soundtracks, including the film Entre Dos Aguas (Isaki Lacuesta, 2018), a work recognised with the Gaudí Award for Best Soundtrack in 2019, as well as an extensive list of projects without genre corsets.
