Liyu was born in 1972 in Wuhan, province of Hubei and Liubo in 1977 in Shishou, province of Hubei, China. Both of them studied Fine Arts at the Universities of the province of Hubei. Their pictures always performed about local today’s news have been exhibited only in Chinese museums and galleries, being this time the first one that their work is shown in our country.

In 2007, Liyu+Liubo gathered a new collection of violent incidents appearing in the news under the title of The Victims, as it is a very common term in the journals. The mass media include a great variety of people in this role: murderers, dead people, thieves, prostitutes, suicide victims, troublemakers, doctors, patients, husbands, wives, old people, businessmen, immigrant workers and town people. Many victims, wounded and insulted, get only the ambiguous label of “disfavoured people”, while some others rebel against the violent and go over to the other side. This system of social disparity is causing the mental attitude of the victim prevailing over all the community.
